Our Success

Since 2015, Launch STEM Careers (LSC) has experienced incredible growth. We began with two schools and 60 female students participating in the program. We currently conduct workshops in 12 elementary and middle schools, six high schools, and one university with approximately 460 female students participating.

Highlights of the Project

  • Will start year five of the project in August 2019.
  • Approximately 350 girls at 12 elementary and middle schools in the project.
  • Six Brevard County high schools with over 100 high school girls serving as mentors to elementary and middle school students.
  • Florida Institute of Technology (FIT) female students established a Launch STEM Careers Club on campus in April 2018.
  • Survey results from teachers and students show that the girls are more motivated toward science and math after being in the program.
  • The 1st Annual Women in STEM Networking Event had 150 female STEM professionals from 12 different Brevard companies, and the 2nd Annual Women in STEM Networking Event included participants from 16 different companies.
